Scala is our newest development completed in 2023 in the heart of popular student area in Oldfield Park.

Welcome to Scala


Split into two blocks you will find Scala Building accommodation for 16 students located above the local Coop shop, and Scala Court adjacent to the Coop which is accommodation for 72 students.

Scala is located in the popular student area of Oldfield Park. Each household has five to ten ensuite bedrooms sharing kitchen facilities. There are also a small number of studio rooms, with your own kitchenette and bathroom located in Scala Building.

You are a short 20 minute walk to the city centre. Along with the small supermarket next to your accommodation and Shaftesbury Road Memorial Garden is across the road this vibrant area of Oldfield Park has plenty of small shops and eateries along Moorland Road.

Claverton Down campus is a 20-minute bus journey. To make you feel safe and at home, Scala has a secure living environment, with swipe card access to the buildings and flats and a dedicated operations team.

Scala Building has 16 bedrooms from £241 per week. There are 5 ensuite bedrooms at £241 per week and 4 large ensuite bedrooms at £256 per week. There are 5 studio rooms at £273 per week, and 2 large studio room at £290 per week.

Scala Court has 72 ensuite rooms at £229 per week.

Getting to know your accommodation

Scala gives you everything you need to work, rest and relax.


Bedroom in Scala

Ensuite rooms have:

  • standard 91cm x 183cm single bed
  • your own ensuite shower, toilet and washbasin
  • a large communal kitchen shared with your flatmates
  • washing machine in kitchen

Studio flats have:

  • small 122cm x 190cm double bed
  • your own ensuite shower, toilet and washbasin
  • small kitchenette with an induction hob, microwave, fridge-freezer and sink

Shared kitchens have an induction hob, microwave, fridge-freezer, washing machine and sink.

If you have a TV in your bedroom, you will need a TV licence. You do not need a TV licence for shared or communal areas.

Scala Building is made up of one building containing 16 rooms over 2 floors.

Your room details contain your building and room number. For example, the room number B 1.01 means you are located in Scala Building, room 1.

Scala Court is made up of one building containing 72 rooms over 3 floors.

Your room details contain your building and room number. For example, the room number c 1.01 means you are located in Scala Court, room 1.

Accommodation for students with a long-term condition or disability

There are small double beds in all ensuite rooms and also lift access across most of the building.
