Discover Bath Science

A chance for students in Year 12 to experience what it's like to study a science degree at the University of Bath

Discover Bath provides an opportunity for Year 12 students to experience studying a science degree at Bath

Overview

Discover Bath aims to give prospective students a taste of first-year life and study at the University of Bath.

In 2021 we hope to deliver this in-person on our beautiful University campus but if COVID-19 prohibits this then we will offer an online version of the same programme (delivered on the same dates) which students can complete in the comfort of their own home.

Discover Bath is free and available to all Year 12 (or equivalent) students who are academically able to study at Bath in their chosen subject.

How you can benefit

Here's what two of this year's Discover Bath students said about the programme:

Participating in the Discover Bath project for Biology allowed me to deepen my understanding of post A level biology and gain the skills an undergraduate scientist would need in writing formal scientific reports! The project also allowed me to solidify my choice in Biochemistry for undergraduate study as it introduced me to the clinical side of drug development in Biology/Biochemistry which is an area of great interest to me! The programme allowed me to become more organised and studious over summer 2020 which aided me in my A level studies and extracurricular work! It made learning online really engaging and gave me an insight into university life and work!

Sonia – Discover Bath Biology

The Discover Bath program was surprisingly informative and detailed. It opened my eyes as I ended up learning a lot about the subject which led to me applying for it.
