Moving into campus accommodation for the first time
What you need to do before you leave home, when to arrive on campus, where to park and what to do once you're here.
Getting ready to come to University
Confirm your arrival time
Lots of new students will move into University accommodation on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 September 2019. As a result, the campus will be very busy over that weekend.
To make moving in easier, we'll allocate you a scheduled time to arrive on campus and send this to the email address you gave when you applied for accommodation. If you haven't received the email by mid-September, contact the Student Accommodation team.
Please remember to book your arrival time, and print your parking permit. This will allow you to park your car for one hour while you unpack your things.
Your library card
Your library card is your official proof of ID on campus. You can use it to get into buildings and buy food and drink at the University.
Before you leave home, you should register online and upload a photo of yourself for your library card. We will then be able to create your card so it's ready for you to use when you get here.
This is especially important if you are in accommodation with Eat and Drink credit. You will not be able to use your credit, or get your 10% discount at food outlets, until you have your library card.
What to bring, what not to bring
If you are coming from overseas, you can send your belongings to the University for collection when you arrive.
Planning your journey
Bath is a small and busy city with two universities. The roads around town and the campus will be busy over arrivals weekend, so allow time for delays. Contact the Student Accommodation team if you're going to miss your scheduled arrival time.
The name of the car park you must use will be on your parking permit. If you're using sat nav, make sure you use the correct postcode so you are directed to the right entrance.
