Your needs and requirements

Choosing the right accommodation is about more than just finding a place to stay, it’s about finding a space that suits your lifestyle and personal needs.

If you have a disability or medical condition

Make sure you tell us if you have a disability or medical condition when applying for accommodation so that we can consider your needs.

Lifestyle preferences

When doing your application, you can request to live in mixed or single-sex accommodation. Along with other lifestyle choices such as designated quiet or vegetarian accommodation. This will be considered together with your room type preferences, although it is not guaranteed and is subject to availability and demand.

We are committed to providing a safe and happy environment for students to live in, whatever their choice of accommodation. We value diversity and inclusivity, and want everyone to be treated with respect.

For example, we can help you if you:

  • are trans and/or gender diverse; we may be able to place you in an en-suite bedroom or a studio
  • are non-binary or intersex; we can look at allocating you to a mixed-gender flat
  • cultural or religious dietary needs; we have a number of studio rooms available

To speak to someone about applying under these circumstances, contact our ResLife team at reslife@bath.ac.uk. You can also book a virtual appointment to speak with the allocations team.
