During Welcome Week 2024 you must attend department and central Welcome Week events which will help you settle into University life.

Timetable


Arrivals Weekend is from Friday 20 September to Sunday 22 September 2024.

Welcome Week runs from Monday 23 September to Friday 27 September 2024.

University Life

You must attend a University Life session taking place over arrivals weekend. Find your University Life time slot. It’s important that you attend this.

Tuesday 24 September

Start Finish Location Description
10.30am 11.15am Departing from outside 10 East Campus tour - Join a small group of MSc students on a Student Ambassador led guided Tour of 10 East and campus
11.15am 12.15pm 10 East 0.17 MSc Course Check in - this Welcome session confirms your arrival in Bath and allows you to meet both the staff who will support you this year and your fellow coursemates
12.15pm 1.30pm 10 East Pavilion Welcome to the School Networking Fair - your official welcome from Professor Stephen Brammer, the Dean of the School of Management. Also an opportunity to meet and connect with our alumni team, University student support and the Students' Union.
1.30pm 2.30pm 10 East 0.23 Laptop Collection - you will need to bring your Library card to collect your laptop.
3.15pm 4.05pm Online on Zoom NeverOK: Understand the community of the University of Bath, and how you can be an active bystander and promote equality.

Wednesday 25 September

Start Finish Location Description
10.15am 11.05am 10 East 0.24 Director of Studies Welcome Talk - meet your Director of Studies (DoS) and receive an overview of your course content, structure and expectations. This is also a great opportunity to ask any questions you might have about the course. Attendance will be taken at this session
11.15am 12.05pm 10 East 0.24 Meet your classmates - led by your Student Experience Officer, this session will help you start to make connections with your coursemates as you take part in some interactive games.
12.15pm 1.05pm The Parade The SU Sports Day: Use this free time to meet the sports clubs and teams and find out how to join. This is an optional activity.

Thursday 26 September

Start Finish Location Description
10.15am 11.45am East Building 1.1 Getting Started on Your MSc - Led by your Student Experience Officer and Programme Support this session will cover key information including student support, timetabling, communication platforms and how you can get involved with the University.
12.15pm 1.05pm East Building 1.1 Introduction to the Library and Skills - This session is co-delivered by our School of Management Librarian and the Digital and Academic Skills Course Leader. You'll have a short introduction to the Library Services and an insight into Skills support available this year.
1.15pm 2.05pm The Parade The SU Groups Day: Find out about all of the Student groups on offer and how to get involved. This is an optional activity

Friday 27 September

Start Finish Location Description
11.15am 12.05pm Founders' Hall The SU Freshers Fair: Use this free time to explore what's on offer at the University and in Bath and pick up some freebies. This is an optional activity.
1.15pm 3.05pm Chancellors' Building 2.6 Careers Support and the Professional Development Programme - Meet your Careers Advisor and hear an overview of the job opportunities, recruitment process and timings. Please bring a laptop to register for useful employability resources

Freshers' Week

The Students' Union also runs optional Freshers' Week activities you might be interested in.
