Welcome Week
Congratulations on receiving an offer to study on one of our MSc courses. We have a programme of events to welcome you to the School of Management and Bath. This programme will help you learn more about your course and to make friends. We look forward to meeting you.

- check your Welcome Week Timetable
- connect with other students on your course by downloading Microsoft Teams
- connect your phone and computer to the University's wi-fi

Welcome events
Welcome to the School
Starting Saturday 31 January 2026
All MSc students should attend the Welcome to the School. This welcome afternoon with key staff will look at expectations and cover key messages for the year ahead. At these sessions you will also meet your classmates, check in to your MSc course and meet members of the MSc team. You will also have the opportunity to take an MSc Student Ambassador led guided tour of 10East and campus.
You will need to scan a QR code to check in to your MSc course. You will need to do this before Monday 16 February 2026. We will confirm details of the QR code in January 2026.

Director of Studies Welcome Talk
A session to meet your Director of Studies, your Student Experience Officer, MSc Team Programme Support and your new course mates. You will receive an overview of your course content, structure and expectations for the year. This is also a great opportunity to ask any questions you might have about the course.
Summer Internship Talk
If you have the option of an Internship on the MSc, this session is an introduction to the internship opportunities and support available this year. Not all courses will have a summer internship option.
The table shows you the summer options available on our MSc courses. You will be required to choose one 30 credit unit for your MSc as your summer option. We will provide more information on how to select your unit options in Semester 1.

Opportunities to get involved during your course
There are opportunities available to you during your MSc. Getting involved in extracurricular activities enhances your experiences, enriches your CV and helps you get the most out of your degree. Some activities may vary depending on availability and health and safety risk assessment.

Course support
Your Director of Studies is your Academic Advisor and your first point of contact for academic advice.
Your Student Experience Officer is available for welfare support and advice.
The MSc Office provide course support and can be contacted for anything to do with your MSc. You will meet them all during Welcome activities.
All members of the Course Support Team provide guidance and support your personal development, academic progress and welfare.
Your career
Careers Support
All School of Management MSc students have a timetabled careers workshop as part of welcome week. They prepare you for job search and applications in the UK and globally. We have a range of online resources, and you will also discuss your career goals and applications with your careers advisor.
The sessions are practical and give tips on:
- Internship and job search in the UK and internationally
- CVs
- cover letters
- interviews
- psychometric tests
- assessment centres
Throughout the workshop we will discuss ways you can enhance and demonstrate your employability.
There will be activities you can sign up for including:
- meetings with a careers advisor to discuss your career goals and applications
- support to pass psychometric tests
- mock interviews and assessment centres
