Last year's event centred on Judith Butler's work.

We are delighted to be hosting our second Annual Feminist Philosophy Meeting, with a focus on postcolonial and decolonial feminisms.

The event aims to:

  • explore current debates within postcolonial and decolonial thought in management and organisation studies
  • engage with the work of influential thinker Saba Mahmood, which is only recently being discussed within our discipline
  • discuss the challenges and possibilities of publishing postcolonial and decolonial work in management journals
  • generate rich discussion in a supportive and dynamic intellectual environment

We have an exceptional line-up of speakers at the forefront of advancing these conversations.

This event follows our first day-conference in 2025, which focused on Judith Butler's writings, and a series of meetings within our School in which the energy, curiosity, and openness of our colleagues inspired us to open these gatherings more widely. Last year's Meeting reminded us what a warm, invigorating experience it can be when scholars gather simply to explore new ways of thinking, share ideas, and learn from one another.

Organising team

This event is supported by the Future of Work Research Centre and the University of Bath School of Management ED&I Committee.
