Autism social group

A social group for students who identify as being on the autism spectrum.

This is a group for students with autism/ASC or for those who identify as autistic. The group is facilitated by a disability adviser in collaboration with volunteer students, always working and open to introducing new ideas to the group.

This semester the group will meet fortnightly on alternate Wednesdays from 4.30pm to 6.00pm. We will have a range of indoor and outdoor activities available which will be decided by the group.

A student who has joined the group says:

'It was actually quite good going to the Autism Social Group. It was an easy way of talking… I spoke with someone new, like during freshers week, I made a friend and found out she was also autistic and I was like: “Oh, should we go to the Autism Social Group together?” And then we did the next week. so that was quite nice. I think it was quite positive. It was good to be able to talk to other people with similar experiences and also give myself kind of a space to make me relax.'

If you would like to join the ASG, please email disabilityadvice@bath.ac.uk. We will then add you to our Microsoft Teams ASG group where announcements about timings, venue and activities are advertised.
