Read Well

Read Well is a joint project run by Student Support and the Library to offer books that can support your wellbeing.

Many of us can talk about a book that inspired us or made us think differently. Read Well offers books that can support your wellbeing by helping you understand and manage your health through self-help reading. The books have all been selected by our Therapeutic Services & Mental Health and Wellbeing teams and many are nationally recognised texts in their respective fields.

Reading has not only been shown to benefit health and wellbeing but it can also be a great self-development tool. Read Well isn’t just for those that feel they would like to explore some self-help books, it’s for everyone.

There are currently over 50 books in the collection that cover topics including:

  • Assertiveness
  • Anger
  • Anxiety
  • Body Image
  • Change
  • Emotions
  • Fear and phobias
  • Mindfulness
  • Perfectionism
  • Sleep
  • Strengths
  • Worry

How to find the Read Well books

All of the books are available from the Library, either to borrow or access online, to use in your own time and from wherever you prefer to read. You can find them all on the Library catalogue, or through a dedicated Read Well Library list, linked from the Library website.

Is there another book you’d like to see on the list?

Have you read a book that has really helped you but isn’t in our collection? Let us know as we regularly review and add to the list. Just email us at welcome-induction@bath.ac.uk with your suggestion.
