Upskilling your ADHD

A group to help you learn to manage your ADHD in a university setting and use your ADHD to help you study.

Upskilling Your ADHD is a group which is designed to help you learn to manage your ADHD in a university setting and how to use your ADHD to help you study. Using the principles of action learning, the group is focused on providing peer-to-peer problem solving support and advice.

The group meets over 6 weeks, with each week focusing on an area of executive functioning difficulty. The 6 areas are:

  • activation
  • focus
  • effort
  • memory
  • emotion
  • action.

We will discuss strategies for managing one of the areas of difficulty as a group, and someone will present a problem related to it, which the group can facilitate the presenter to solve.

You will need to show motivation to engage with the group. Sessions are in-person for 1 hour and currently scheduled on Fridays. You will need to commit that you are able to attend all or nearly all of the 6 sessions.

Who is it for?

The group is for students who are enrolled at the University of Bath and have a diagnosis of ADHD or are currently awaiting an assessment for diagnosis of ADHD. It may not be suitable for students with ADHD alongside other conditions which may need to be addressed first, or for students who do not learn well in a group setting.

How to join?

Students can be referred to the group by Disability Advisers. If you would like to join the next group, please contact the Disability Advice team at disabilityadvice@bath.ac.uk
