Early Payment of Bursaries

If you are a new first year undergraduate student receiving a Bath Bursary or Gold Scholarship, we will make an early payment of £500 to support your purchase of technology before teaching starts. In order to receive this payment you must have completed Registration On Line and all of the administrative tasks associated with accepting the bursary or scholarship including provided the University with your bank details by 15 September 2023.

Short Term Interest Free Loan

If you would like to purchase a laptop, but are awaiting your next loan/stipend instalment or would prefer to spread the cost through the year, you can apply for a short term interest free loan to support your purchase of a laptop.

Hardship Fund

If you are unable to afford the technology that you need to access your course, then please apply to the University of Bath Hardship Fund . The application will look at your overall expenditure and income and will make an award based on overall need.

Laptop Loan

If your laptop is temporarily unavailable, for example if it is undergoing repair, if you are waiting for a new laptop to be delivered or you are awaiting a hardship fund application review, DDAT have laptops that are available for loan.

Please note: This form is visible to eligible undergraduate and postgraduate taught students only, and the maximum laptop loan period is one semester.
