The Landscape team are on call 24-hours a day and 7-days a week and make sure that major roads and footpaths are as accessible as possible in snowy or icy conditions.

Areas of campus in order of priority

Roads (priority one)

Our first priority is the main roads around the campus. We keep these open whenever possible and prioritise clearing snow and ice from the main entrance, along Convocation Avenue, and then across campus.

Car parks (priority two)

We treat car parks as a secondary priority and grit them with a trailed salt spreader.

Footpaths (priority three)

We grit and clear footpaths as a third priority. You should take care when choosing routes to walk around campus.

Parade and central areas (priority four)

We grit the Parade and central areas and clear snow by hand. You should take care when choosing your route.

Other footways (priority five)

We grit all other footways when possible, giving priority to slippery routes based on our assessments.
