The Woodlands

Event space and accommodation on the South perimeter of campus.

The Woodlands is a Grade II listed building on the southern edge of campus. It offers meeting, dining and overnight accommodation for distinguished University guests, including international visitors, industry partners and funders.

Facilities are available for approved University business and events, with accommodation also bookable by departments.

The Woodlands accommodation

Choose from one of three spacious accommodation options:

Bedrooms

Laburnum, a generous bedroom suite featuring a comfortable lounge area and a private ensuite bathroom.
Acer, a comfortable ensuite bedroom with a private bathroom and study desk.
Magnolia, a double bedroom with private bathroom located adjacent to, but separate from, the room.

Self contained flat

A one bedroom flat with kitchen and dining room

Accommodation at The Woodlands is available for stays of one to seven days.

Event and meeting space

The following areas may be booked independently or together as a combined booking:

Dining Room

Seats up to 16 people on a single large table
Up to 30 people can be accommodated for a stand-up buffet or afternoon tea

Breakfast Room

Includes a self-service tea/coffee/drinks station
Holds approximately 10 people (standing)
Accommodates up to five people for a sit-down breakfast

The Dining Room is accessed from the Breakfast Room. The Breakfast Room will always be booked when booking the Dining Room. The Breakfast Room may be booked separately if no event is taking place in the Dining Room.

Meeting Room (Oak Room)

Holds up to 12 people (or ideally eight people if using AV equipment)
Has tea/coffee making facilities

Drawing Room

Holds up to 12 people
Suitable for events such as a drinks reception or afternoon tea

Catering is available for events and provided by Food Direct. Information is provided at time of booking.
