Arriving on campus

Parking and approach

On-site car parking is available across the campus with 24-hour monitored CCTV in operation.

Traffic-calming measures, including speed detection signage, are strategically situated across the campus.

If you are staying in Polden, the nearest parking to your building is found in West Car Park, which provides six disabled parking spaces. There is a step-free path to the West Accommodation Centre, which is where you will check-in, and a drop-off point nearby.

For Marlborough Court, Solsbury Court, The Quads, and Woodland Court, the nearest parking is East Car Park, which provides ten disabled parking spaces. There is a step-free route to the East Accommodation Centre.

West Accommodation Centre

The West Accommodation Centre is the check-in point for guests staying in Polden.

The approach leading up to the entrance is level, and there is a step-free route to the reception desk. The reception desk has a lower counter with recesses, and a hearing loop is available. There is an accessible toilet and a seated waiting area in the reception.

East Accommodation Centre

If you are visiting for a conference or event, your check-in point will be the East Accommodation Centre unless told otherwise.

The approach leading up to the entrance is level. The reception area is accessed by an automated sliding door leading directly into a clear and level reception area which has a carpeted seating area. The reception area has induction loops.

The reception desk has a lower counter with recesses, and a hearing loop is available. There is an accessible toilet and a seated waiting area in the reception.

Arriving at Green Park House

Parking and approach

There is no on-site car parking for Green Park House. The nearest Pay & Display car parks are Green Park Road Car Park and Avon Street Car Park.

The nearest public transport link is the ‘Green Park’ bus stop.

Checking-in

The Green Park House reception is the check-in point for guests staying in the city.

The approach leading up to the entrance is level, and there is a step-free route to the reception desk. There is a small waiting area near the reception desk, and a hearing loop for the reception desk.

Polden accommodation

Accessibility information

All external doors in Polden are motorised, and there is a step-free route to each block. The step-free route to Blocks A and B are accessed from the back of the building. There is a lift in each block.

If you are deaf or have hearing loss, you can request vibrating pillows when making your room booking.

All external doors in Polden are motorised, and there is a step-free route to the studios from the West Accommodation Centre. This is accessed from the back of the building. There is a lift in each block.

Polden Café

For guests staying in Polden, a continental breakfast is available from Polden Café.

There is step-free access to the café, with motorised doors on route which require key card access.

Breakfast is offered on a self-service basis, and staff are available to help transport trays on request should you require assistance.

Green Park House accommodation

Accessibility information

All external doors in Green Park House are motorised and there are lifts throughout the building.

If you have a loss of hearing, you can request vibrating pillows when making your room booking.

Conference and events accommodation

There is a step-free route from the East Accommodation Centre to the entrance to each accommodation building. Please note that some blocks in Marlborough Court, Solsbury Court and Woodland Court do not have lift access.

If you are staying in the accommodation listed above and have breakfast included as part of your stay, this will be available from lime tree.

There is step-free access to the café, with motorised doors on route. See the lime tree detailed access guide for more information.

Breakfast is offered on a self-service basis, and staff are available to help transport trays on request should you require assistance.

Other restaurant, bars and coffee shops

All venues can accommodate wheelchair users, individuals using mobility aids such as zimmer frames as well as those using pushchairs.

We can accommodate special dietary requirements, just speak to a member of the reservations team when making your booking.

Emergency evacuation procedures

If you have a disability or mobility issue, please let us know when you book your room so we can arrange a Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan (PEEP).

If you are in a non-ground floor rooms, emergency lifts and refuge points are available.

All staff including our security teams have received training on how to manage the evacuation of our buildings in the event of an emergency.

All exit points lead out onto a level surface.

Additional information

The University of Bath has an award-winning Security team patrolling the campus 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Buses linking the University to Bath to the city centre run frequently from the campus bus terminal.
